I would like to thank Fozz,Nadz and Shazu personally for they have begun their part as the committee. On February 15th, Fozz and Nadz went to OGA Hall in Putrajaya to survey and see whether the place is suitable for our anniversary. OGA Hall is apparently a shop-lot. I’ve been told by an OG, Kak Ida Borhan that it’s not really suitable to have a gathering there. Fozz and Nadz confirmed that. I quote Fozz:

ok since dah after cny, lets just get the ball rolling, seperti kata nadiah.

so far me n nadiah dah tgk OGA hall kat Putrajaya tu.. it’s at a shoplot area. klu nak pk parking, mmg senang. but just the part its a shoplot tu yg tak sure ble muat ke x sume org..

so now like nadiah said, the most important thing is to estimate brape org nak dtg dulu on that 6/12.

I was shocked to read the RM7k part (lol) but as shazu said, we have to check again to see if we can get better deals. And friends, mind you this is just a suggestion. If you have any place that you think really fits to be our venue, feel free to voice out your opinion. I mean, you HAVE TO if you think you have better ideas ok. Hehehehe. No need to be malu-malu or whatnot as we need to confirm this a.s.a.p so that Kiau can begin her Chetti duty.

Alhamdulillah, discussions were quite active both in tkc9600.com and Facebook. As per requested, and as promised by yours truly, now I’ll update on the not-yet-final conclusions from the discussions. I will also share with you the information that I got from OGA. But for today, we’re going to focus on only the date. And I hope we can come to a decision.

Date –

I think we have to cross out 10.10.10 from our list. It’s unanimous that everyone thinks the date is a HOT one. Hot as in hot foe weddings,engagements,attending weddings,attending engagements et cetera. Even though it means A LOT if we can do it on that date, but we’re gonna go for practicality instead. Afraid that there won’t be many turnouts on the day of the anniversary. But a small get together,an informal one can be arranged if we want to meet up on this date. That is, if we don’t have any weddings/ engagements to attend to that day (aku sanggup ambik cuti to come down to KL if anyone nak get together on 10.10.10).

Atie suggested 5.Nov.10 since it’s a public holiday (Deepavali) and seconded by Inamadz and Fozz. Ina suggested the theme “Colors of Rangoli” if we were to have the anniversary on that date. Though I can’t imangine myself wearing a sari (I dare not imagine!! Hahahah), but the idea is good too. It’s on Friday, so no one needs to apply for leave, except for the Doctors of our batch (Marr, Pau Ahmad tak cuti jugak ke on Deepavali? ).

Idya suggested 10.July.10. It’s on Saturday. And those in Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu need to apply for leave at least for Sunday,the day after. Unless, you can bear it, then go ahead and work the next day. Hehehe. I know I can’t. LOL. I will be busy with preparations for UPSR during this time,though.  Not that the show can’t go on without me, but I’d be extremely devastated if I can’t join in the celebration. TT_TT

The last one is 6.Dec.10. To be honest, I REALLLLLLY agree if we go on with this date. It is so SIGNIFICANT with our batch since 6.Dec.95 was officially the day most of us first stepped on Bukit Merbah as TKC9600 (those yang ada visit kakak-kakak tak kira ok?). It will be on Sunday Monday,so those in Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu, imho, definitely need to apply for leave, but the day after is a public holiday (Awal Muharam). It is the 10th anniversary, so I personally think it should have some significance to our batch,no?

Can we have a poll then? And can I officially CLOSE the suggestions for dates? If not, we might end up with other suggestions and in the end won’t come to a decision. So, only these three dates,ok? Cast your votes now. This poll will end on 13 Feb 2010.

A few days back, Firah has messaged me and a few others in Facebook. So for a few days, we have been discussing roughly on the committees and what to do during the reunion. But before I proceed to the point, I’d like to apologize for not updating our blog. I’m not going to give any excuses because for sure it’s going to be cliché and lame,so I’m hoping you guys would accept my apology. ♥ ♥ ♥ InsyaAllah, God willing, I’ll update this blog as frequent as I can.

In part 3 of our 10th Anniversary entry, I wrote about the committees for the reunion. A few have suggested me as the Director in that entry. And again in the Facebook message. Accepting it comes with a big burden of duties, so I’m hoping we can all work together to make the reunion a successful and memorable event. Here’s the list of the committees that we’ve roughly discussed. Kindly voice out your comment if you think this committee needs amendment.

And if anyone thinks she’s up to the challenge, please nominate yourself. No need to be shy or whatnot, because this is for the benefit of our batch. Plus, time is running out!! We have to have the committee a.s.a.p so that we can work on the plans.

For now, we kind of decided to have a “mini gathering” during OGA Day on the 1st of May 2010. Nothing specific has been planned, for now it’s just like a normal visit to Bukit Merbah. But if a number of us gather in one place, you know it won’t be NORMAL anymore,right? It’ll be LOUD. EXTREMELY LOUD!! Hehehehe. And the date for the reunion I assume it’s decided on Sunday, 10.10.10? Unless Shambie decided to tie the knot that day [jeng jeng jeng], I think for now we’ll be using that date as our benchmark. Am I right?

i’m terribly sorry for the long silence. i’ve been away for a couple of weeks because of the school holidays. yup, i made FULL USE of my school break, and really berehat-rehat sambil menternak lemak di rumah. even though during weekends daku akan bersama shambie. and last weekend we went to mizot’s before attending my friend’s wedding. managed to ‘update’ a.k.a gossip a little.  :lol:

ermm, about the 10th Year Anniversary Committee, thanks for giving your thoughts and suggestions. we’ll continue about it later. this entry is mainly to let you guys know i’m still around. and to give info about the TKCOGA’s activity next month. yeah, i know we ALL HAVE NOT REGISTERED for TKCOGA yet, but it’s ok i guess. after all, once a TKCian, always a TKCian, right? if the kakak-kakak see Class of 2000 together, they won’t be in doubt. don’t you think? if any of you would like to bowl and represent TKC9600 [which you're most welcome to!], do contact the person in charge. Kak Fern told me they need to confirm the teams by 20th June 2009 [that's this Saturday!!], so if you’re interested please cepat-cepat call. and guys, don’t underestimate OGA ok, from our experiences that day, they are no different from us. still gila-gila.

one thing though, the event is on the SAME day as Idya’s wedding. i know i won’t be around for Le Tua de Alley. so are Atie,Shazu,Firah,Kochee,Kechik and others who are going to Temerloh. but, even if i get to go i know i’ll only be the cheerleader, bersorak di belakang-belakang only.

frankly, i’m not really comfortable writing about this since i knew about mida’s condition. it seems rather inappropriate to be talking/discussing about this thing when mida is fighting her pain. but i do hope everyone will be understanding. any news regarding mida will be updated as soon as we hear anything. so in the meantime, let’s continue our discussion on the 10th year anniversary plan now, shall we?

let me start off with the reasons WHY i would like/prefer the anniversary be held in october [yes, the school is STILL in session at that time] and WHY the celebration should be in college.

• as we would be turning 27 next year, it will be appropriate for us to have a sort of “give back” session with the present collegians. perhaps we can share some experiences with them about working world or life post-college.
• 2011, college will move to a new location, i.e. Nilai. So 2010 will be the LAST year our beloved college would be on Bukit Merbah.
• one of the itineraries i have in mind [to be explained later], involves EATING in dining hall, so by having the celebration during school holidays, we HAVE to skip that. [as i'm writing suddenly "SAUSAGE MASAK MERAH" came in mind..] *drool*
• i thought of inviting our teachers who currently are no longer teaching in college to the anniversary. at least if they are still in negeri sembilan [like Monsieur Amir-yes Nadz,he's teaching in SMAP Labu now], we won’t intefere their school holidays.

please bear in mind that this comes from a teacher herself.  if you ask me, i would definitely want it to be during school holidays so that i won’t have to apply for cuti, but for the above reasons, i think it should be done somewhere during school session. please don’t worry about getting permission or the place to sleep in college. as this is only the early stage of our plan, i will seek advice from the OGs [batch 8084] regarding the issue.

and like i’ve commented before, the overnight stay is OPTIONAL and is most likely/only applied to single people [like yours truly,firah,atie and shazu..err, shambie pun ke?!!] and the committees that we are going to have later [for persiapan tempat etc]. i understand the difficulties to those with child/children, that’s why the MAIN events will only be on 10.10.10 [sunday] so you won’t have to worry about leaving our anak-anak saudara(s)  and your better halves by themselves.

however, there’s ONE thing that i’m afraid of and the only reason why our anniversary WON’T be on 10.10.10. that is, if it falls during the PMR Week. i know “Bonda” won’t approve it and i also think it’ll be inappropriate [Bonda-that's what collegians call the principle, not like we used to call ours,"Rocky" ]. this can’t be confirmed until next year though, because exam dates are not fixed. but for the time being let’s just stick to the date, can we? the poll is still going. so, place your vote there ok. if you have another date to suggest, i.e. the same date as 2010 OGA Day, please let us know.

alright, now le’ts get to the itinerary of the day. mind you that these are just my suggestions and they are subjected to changes or improvements that you think should be done in order to have a complete one. ideas or other suggestions are most welcome too.

1. solat hajat & yaasin recital for PMR & SPM [if PMR dah lepas then utk SPM je]
2. film show [it would be a dream if we can have the one like we used to have, if not guna LCD je lah..]
3. dinner,supper [091010],breakfast,lunch,tea [101010] @ dining hall
4. basketball/volleyball match – interhouse or tkc9600 vs collegians
5. house meeting
6. college meeting/experience sharing @ Dewan Budiman
7. lunch with teachers [as in no.3]
8. slideshow [of our times in college - can be included in no.6]

first of all, thanks a lot for ALL the birthday and teachers’ day wishes last week. i had a fantabulous 26th year on earth thanks to all your love, rakan-rakan. and for your info, during the teachers’ day celebration in my school, i was ‘crowned’ the GURU PALING DIGERUNI by the students. sheishhhh.. i guess 5 years with Miss Vicky had some sort of influence to me.

as you all know, next year will be our 10th year graduating from college. alhamdulillah i’ve got positive feedbacks from those i’ve talked to, and it seemed like the BIG anniversary is absolutely a MUST next year. aliza, as our batch leader, has given me and shambie the ‘permission’ to be her representatives in the planning of the anniversary. lol. it’s nothing big really, but since we can get through to you guys easier [via this web and facebook], so she thinks it’s just appropriate to do that. the only problem is that we are working nun jauh di timur semenanjung, so it’s really impossible for us to meet up with all of you face to face and to discuss the itinerary. this is why EACH AND EVERY tkc9600, CLASS OF 2000 plays a MAJOR role in making sure the planning of the anniversary goes on. whenever you have a get together among tkc9600, after all GOSSIPS have been shared,please chip in some discussion regarding the anniversary..hehehe. then, let me or shambie know of any development so that we can put it up in our dotcom.

and just to share something i recently stumbled upon, our friends mckk9600 has begun their 10th year anniversary planning.  i know we can’t be as organized as they are, plus with some of us being Mommies to our anak-anak saudara, the activities to be planned seems a bit limited. but i regard mckk9600’s planning as a motivation and challenge for us to do even better. i have a few ideas in mind, but in the meantime let’s just brainstorm on what we want to have in the itinerary. but the most important thing is to decide when is the best DATE to have the anniversary. aliza had made a STRONG reminder to yours truly that the anniversary should be after September, but it’s not mandatory [cheiss, i'm using law-related word! mentang-mentang tengah cakap pasal aliza!] we’ll try to have it on a day which everyone can make it.

so, let the ideas/opinions/suggestions coming. and for the time being we’ll discuss it online. when everything’s final, we’ll start drafting the paperwork. wow!

there’s this email that i received from someone regarding OGA. it’s something about the revamping of OGA. apparently kak ana’s batch (9397) wanted a change in the OGA committee. no more mak2 datins, i guess.they kinda want the new young leaders to be the heads of OGA.

can’t say that i’m all for it, because i think we still need mak2 datins for various purposes. some of them are really respected people and masters in their fields. but bringing in new leaders, young leaders, pun has its plus points jugak. if they can promise a good change, why not?

so what say you?

anyway, there will be an AGM on the 17th, but only member of OGA can join and vote. they said something about voting off the current committees. dunno lah, it feels like a case of ’sharizat kicking rafidah’ plak. lols. [just making an analogy here.. hehe]

in my p.o.v, this is all politics. so i couldn’t be bothered. as long as the current committee are up for a vast change, i dun mind them leading us. they all have qualities too, and experiences, which we, the young generations lack.

so please tell me what you think. they sounded serious lah jugak about [sacking is a harsh word] voting off the old,old committee. hehe.

well, some updates from yours truly. last week i was surely blessed. why? because i managed to meet up two DOCTORS in our batch. Dr Farihah and Dr Yanie respectively. Faha was on a holiday in Terengganu with her parents, so I met her right after I finished my course in town. some memorable experiences we had during the short time we saw each other.. the most unforgettable [and sad] one was of course when her parents met with an accident. thank goodness it was not a major one, but melayang lah jugak a few hundreds I think. partly i must say it was my fault because i didn’t wait for her parents while I was driving back to their hotel. sigh~ but I was glad to have met Faha.. bising as ever, ok?! we took some pictures, but all using faha’s newly-bought DSLR. insyaAllah, i’ll post the pictures later if faha emails them to me.

a few days after, Yanie came to Kelantan. well, no need to guess lah what was the MAIN event. shopping of course! whenever anyone comes to Kelantan, THE place to go was Pasar Siti Khadijah. yanie and her friend, kak ros bought lots and lots of kain batik sarung, some tudung and batik sutera.. hehehehhehe.. i guess we were all so overwhelmed with shopping [and busy tawar-menawar], none remembered to take pictures. not even with our hand phones. *lol*

enough about the stories, I think some explanation is apt on behalf of our webmistress [SHAMBIE].. the fact that she has taken the inisiative to set up our own dot com, is simply gratifying. so, I hope we can all help her to memeriahkan this web, either by contributing stories or just leaving some comments. shambie’s super busy right now, so the visual aspect of this website is still not very much ‘mengujakan‘. i’m sure when she has the time [plus me reminding her ALWAYS *lol*] our dot com will be something for us to be proud of.

in line with this dot com we now have, i just had this thought that day. and i have spoken to a few people in our batch about it, but it’s merely informing, not planning anything concrete.. it’s about making a sort of “comeback” to college for our 10th year since graduation in 2010. i know it’s a long way to go, but since i thought the event should be special, so thorough planning and preparation is required. and to start now is not too early.

there are a lot of things to think about. the most important thing is to find the whereabouts of ALL 140 of us, which imho, is not a simple thing to do. but just imagine, if we could be there all of us, wouldn’t it be nice? nisah, nawaal, jib with their children. those who have tied the knots, with their lovely hubbies. me and my fellow single-mingle anak dara with JUST ourselves, keeping our faces straight because it’s already 10 years and we are not making any progress. *sobsob* [NAUZUBILLAH!! hopefully by then i will be happily married..ececececece..colan-colannya adalahhhh...??] but i’m sure, if we all get together [in college ground some more!!] ALL of us would turn 17 all of a sudden!! am i right?

well,guys..this is just a thought. but if we are able to make it come true, i know it’ll be great. i will try to give you information gradually. and hopefully we’ll be making progress.
